High-Speed Macrotexture

As one of the emerging technologies in the transportation industry, macrotexture leverages the latest generation of high-speed road profiling sensors. A 64 KHz laser sensor is used to collect and report mean profile depth at highway speeds by capturing 100 mm samples of data every meter at 70 mph.

Multiple sensors can also be used to report macrotexture values at various locations within the lane. Additionally, the PathRunner Collection Vehicle is capable of capturing and reporting macrotexture data according to ASTM E1845-01.
